Vogt, Robert L.
On Saturday, May 18, 2019 Robert was called home by his Lord, offering back to Him his life of 92 years. Born to Leo and Clara Vogt. He was the loving husband to Agnes for 64 years who preceded him in death. He was the best dad to Sr. Roberta Vogt OMVF, Linda (Lamont) Gyles, Gail (Thomas) Vainner, Marcia (Robert) Panlener, and William (Patrica) Vogt. Preceded in eternity by his children; Ellen, Philip, and David. He was the loving grandfather to Sam (Cassandra) and Shelly Gyles, Beth (Andrew) Faber, Andrew (Melissa), Daniel (Jenna) and Therese Vainner, Ryan, Aaron, Eric (Hanna), Sean and Katie (Kurt Jankowski) Panlener, and Michael Vogt. Eleven great grandchildren; Sam, Caleb, Kali, Xander, Devon, Brennan, Alli, Myah, Clint, Colt, and Carson. Also survived by his sister, Lorraine (Fred) Ford-Smith; brothers-in-law, Myron Czubko and Leo (Bernie) Czubko; and sisters-in-law, Jennie Weiler and Joanna Czubko.
Robert retired from Consumers Energy as a lineman and trouble shooter after 33 years of service. He grew up on the family farm and continued farming and enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening. He marveled at the beauty of zinnias and other flowers. His passion was being in the woods and cutting wood. Robert enjoyed family, fishing, and hunting and building Christmas nativity scenes. At a young age, he plowed the fields behind a horse and years later on a tractor he would say, "I do my best mediating in the fields."
Robert was a faithful and grateful member of St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church where the Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at 10:00 AM with Father Tim Nelson officiating. Interment will be at St. John's Catholic Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM with a Rosary Service at 7:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church and Masses would be appreciated.
"Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord. May perpetual light shine upon him. He has run the race and I have no doubt he is with the Lord. Well done good and faithful servant."
