of Jackson passed away Friday, August 15, 2014 at the age of 85 years. Survived by his five children; Phillip J. (Joyce) Nelson, Todd M. (Sue) Nelson, Lori A. (Tom) Masters, Matthew J. (Mariann) Nelson, and Theodore G. "Ted" Nelson; twelve grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, Thomas Nelson; sisters, Mary (Ed) Havens and Barbara (Richard) Anderson. Preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Mary R. Nelson (Cary) and sister, Olive "Kay" McDevitt. Robert was a United States Navy Veteran. He retired from Farm Bureau Insurance after 53 years of service.

Mr. Nelson is at the Desnoyer Funeral Home where a prayer service will be held Wednesday, August 20th at 10:00 AM followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church at 10:30 AM. Interment St. John's Catholic Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM with a Rosary Service at 6:30 PM.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to St. John's Church would be appreciated.
