Maddalena, Robert "Bob"
Of Jackson, age 97, passed away July 2, 2022, with his wit, love of reading, and cheerful heart intact, after a long and happy life, beloved by all who knew him. Bob was married for 67 years to Paula McNamara, known as Jo, who predeceased him in 2019. He was born in Jackson on July 26, 1924, and was a founding member of Queen's parish, where he remained a lifelong communicant. Bob and Jo are survived by their children, Anne (Nick) Lombardo of Vienna, VA, Sara (Bob) Dickerson of Waterford, Laura (Louis) Nadai of Southfield, and Michael (Rebecca Siegel) Maddalena of Thetford Center, VT; grandchildren Nick (Lindsay), Joe (Lauren), and Matt Nadai, Adam (Liz) and Andrew (Shannon) Dickerson, and Hyla Maddalena; great-grandchildren Adrian and Mallory Nadai; and many devoted nieces and nephews in the Snyder, Rosa, Lynn, and Smith families. Bob was preceded in death by his parents Onorina and Romano Maddalena, sisters and brothers-in-law Olga (Joseph) Lynn, Nora (Jack) Snyder, and Ann "Nucci" (Frank) Rosa, and sister/brother-in-law Nora Lee (Charles) Smith. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the Army Air Corps in the Pacific. According to Bob's wishes, his body has been donated to medical education.
A private memorial service will be held at a future time. The family thanks the dedicated staff of Countryside Manor and Southern Care Hospice for their care and friendship. Special thanks go to volunteers P.J. and S.W. of Queen's for their presence in his life.
Donations in Bob's memory may be made to Jackson Catholic Schools, The Salvation Army, St. Jude's Hospital, or the charity of your choice.
