Of Jackson, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 16, 2018 at the age of 93 years. He is survived by two daughters, Sue (Steve) Hardash and Sandy Rogers; one granddaughter, Ashley (Darrin) Fall; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Liechti and Elizabeth Prin; one nephew, Gordon Liechti and one niece, Tammy Jenkins. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Delores and their infant son, David; brother, Ervin Liechti; brother-in-law, William Prin; two sons-in-law, Dave Adams and Jerry Rogers and one niece, Carin Brooks.
Bob was a long time member of Trinity Lutheran Church where he was instrumental in the tape ministry program for the shut-ins as well as the sound system at both the church and school. He was an electrician for Cochran Electric for 13 years and worked in maintenance at Consumers Power Company for 28 years before retiring in 1998. He was active for many years as W8VUK, a ham radio operator who enjoyed talking with and meeting people from all over the world. He bravely served our country in the US Navy on the USS Cocopa during World War II as a radio man 1st class.
According to his wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Friday, May 4 from 3PM to 7:30PM with a Prayer Service at 7:30PM. They will also receive friends at Trinity Lutheran Church on Saturday, May 5 from 10AM until the time of the service at 11AM, with Pastor Galen Grulke officiating. Graveside Service at 2:30PM in Woodland Cemetery will follow.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests that you consider a memorial to Trinity Lutheran School or Church or Great Lakes Caring Hospice in memory of Bob.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Kevin and Leigh Ganton, their sons and the entire staff at Arbor North, especially Great Lakes Campus Care and Hospice for their wonderful care.
