Ward, Robert Joseph "Bob"
Age 91 of Jackson, MI, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 3, 2022. He was the son of Robert R. and Clara Ward born on October 8, 1930. Bob is survived by his daughters, Pam (Gary) Wolcott and Barb (Craig) Frazier; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife of 49 years, Betty (Ives), his daughters Patti O'Leary and Rhonda Ward.
Bob led a great life founded in love, faith, community and service. He graduated from St. Mary's Catholic School in 1948. After graduation he served honorably in the United States Air Force, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. After service he began employment with the USPS where he was a well- respected letter carrier for over 34 years. After retirement Bob and Betty treasured time spent with hobbies such as bowling, golf, camping, going to the casino and spending time with their children and grandchildren.
Bob was a proud member of the American Legion Richard F Smith Post 29 for 39 years. He was also a lifetime member of the Moose where he held many positions including Past Governor of Jackson Moose Lodge 156, Past President of the Michigan Moose Association District 6, Past President of Central Michigan Moose Legion 177 and a Former State Champion of Moose Legion Ritualist.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 8 from 12:00 Noon to 1:00 PM at Desnoyer Funeral Home. The service will follow officiated by Father Jim Shaver. Interment will take place at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Legion Richard F Smith Post 29.
