Jors, Robert Nathan

of Jackson, passed away at his home on Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at the age of 80 years. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Barbara; six children, Patrick Jors, Theresa (Mark) Cavanaugh, Daniel Jors, Michael (Judy) Jors, Robert (Dawn) Jors, William Jors; seven grandchildren, Patrick Jors, Charles (Shelby) Jors, Karin Jors, Samantha Cavanaugh, Kevin Cavanaugh, Amanda Jors, Michael Homminga; one sister, Natalie Wilkins. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Nellie Jors; two sisters, Patricia Burns and Catherine Franklin. Robert was the president of the 1947 graduating class from St. Mary High School and was a member of their 1947 state football championship team. He graduated from Notre Dame University in 1952 where he was a member of their golf team. Robert was Past President of the Country Club of Jackson where he was a member for 62 years. He was one of the originating members of the Southwest Little League and he enjoyed all sports, with a special interest in golf where he achieved five holes in one during his playing career.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church on Saturday at 9:30 am. Reverend Cecilio Reyna will be the celebrant.

Robert was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
