Vogt, Robert Edward Sr. "Ed"

of Jackson, passed away on Friday, September 16, 2011 at the age of 85 years. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 42 years, Marg Vogt. He is survived by his wife of 8 years, Marion Vogt and her children, Tim (Linda) and Terry (Robin) McConnell; his three children, Mary Ellen (Joe) Lozier, Cindy (Paul) Slone, Bob (Sue) Vogt; seven grandchildren, Jennifer (Jake) Dalton, Amy (RJ) Farrell, Matthew Zonts, Christopher Zonts, Amanda Slone, Trip Vogt, Tyler Vogt; six great grandchildren, Nicole Dalton, Jack Dalton, Cody Zonts, Kayla Leach-Zonts, Emily Leach, James Melton; one brother, Gerald (Maureen) Vogt; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Ellen Vogt.

Ed retired from Consumers Power Co. after over 30 years of service, was a Navy veteran of WWII, was a lifetime member of Elks Lodge #113 and was Past State President of the Michigan Elks Association.

Mr. Vogt is at the Desnoyer Funeral Home where services will be held on Tuesday at 9:30 AM followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church at 10:00 AM. Father Tim Nelson will be the celebrant at the Mass.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and on Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A Scripture Service will be held on Monday at 7:00 PM. The Elks Lodge of Sorrow will be held on Monday at 7:30 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ed's memory may be made to the Elks Major Project or the Jackson Elks Lodge #113.
