He is survived by his daughter, Renee (Dave) James; son, Scott (Michelle) DuBois; grandchildren Brandon, Lyndsey, Morgan (Evan), Savannah, Cami, and John; great-grandchildren, Finley, Brody, Josie, and Lainey; sister-in-law, Sandy (Phil) Sobieski; special friend, Bobbi; and several nieces, nephews, and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Lynn "Gerry"; parents, Robert and Dorothy DuBois; sister and brother-in-law, Beverly (Red) Natschke; and brother and sister-in-law, Ron (Bonnie) DuBois.

Bob graduated from East Jackson High School in 1957, where he met and married his high school sweetheart in 1963.  He received a scholarship to Western Michigan University in woodworking.  He graduated in 1961 with a degree in Math and Industrial Arts.  Bob taught for two years in Holland, Michigan before returning to his alma matter as a coach and teacher at East Jackson.  In 1964, Bob joined the teaching staff of Jackson Public Schools as  a Drafting and Industrial Arts Teacher and later he moved into an Administrative roll.

In the mid 70's, Bob left education to obtain business experience in the community.  He was a general manager for several businesses with St. John's Enterprises.   Continuing to stay in the business field, Bob left to work at Alro Steel, where he was Director of Corporate Sales and later Assistant to the President. Al Glick was a person that Bob highly respected and stayed in touch with throughout the years.

While at Alro Steel, the retiring Principal of Jackson High encouraged Bob to come back to education.   So in 1985, he became Principal of Jackson High School.  He enjoyed his time at Jackson High School to the fullest and considered it to be his best years in education.  In 2013, he earned the districts first Lifetime Viking Award.

In 1990, the black and orange of JHS turned green and white, when he became the Superintendent of the Napoleon Public Schools.  Upon retirement, Bob became the Summit Township Clerk and later a Trustee.

Bob was very active in Community Service.  He was the past president of the Jackson Jaycees, Goodwill Industries, Jackson Host Lions Club, and United Way of Jackson County.  He was the past board member of several organizations including the Vista Grande Villa, Jackson County Parks and Recreation, Jackson Nonprofit Support Center, Boy Scouts, Juvenile Division, and Family Service & Children's Aid.  Bob was also the General Chair of the Jackson Bicentennial - 1976 and past committee chair of the Greater Jackson Chamber of Commerce.

A special thank you to Careline (Tammy and Robin) and the Vista Grande Villa Assisted Living Staff.
