Cogan, Robert Dale

Passed away on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at the Spring Arbor Rehabilitation Center, where he resided with his beloved wife of 62 years, Leota. Also survived by his son, Bradley and his wife Deborah; daughter Cindy and her husband Paul; three grandchildren, Sarah, Amy and Jaclyn; brother Lyle and wife Diane, brother Jack and wife Rosemary, brother Harry and wife Holly; and many beloved friends.

Robert (Bob) was born March 23rd 1934 to Charles and Ilene Cogan of Parma. Bob along with his six brothers and one sister were well known throughout the Parma area. Bob loved to garden and grow vegetables to share within the community once even taking a truckload of corn up to the Parma Ice-cream Social to share. Bob lived in Parma his entire life until he moved to Hanover in the 1990's. He loved to play cards and the Cogan clan gathered regularly to play poker and enjoy Hinkleys' doughnuts. Bob had various jobs, including working at Caslers and West Point Hardware, but his dream job was being a firefighter for Summit Township Fire Department where he worked for over twenty years. He was also a volunteer for Parma-Sandstone Fire Department.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 17 at 10:30 AM at the Desnoyer Funeral Home with Fr. Robert Pienta officiating. Interment at St. John's Catholic Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
