COLE, ROBERT W. "BOB", of Jackson passed away suddenly on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 age 57 years. Survived by his wife of 30 years, Lou Ann. One son, Robert C. (Melissa Maher) Cole. Two sisters; Victoria (Delmar) Cole and Susan (John) Fillinger. Sisters in law; Diane (Rick) DeClercq and Valerie Barta. Nieces and nephews; Joey (Amy), Jim, Bobbi (Ben), Jimmy (DeeDee), Eric (Marina), Bradley (Kim) and Gregory. Many other close friends, family members and his beloved dog, Chipper. Preceded in death by his parents, Robert C. and Myrtle Cole and his brother-in-law Gordon Barta.
Bob attended Sand Creek Schools until the 9th grade and graduated from Adrian High School in 1972 and then joined the United States Air Force. Bob retired as Detective Sergeant from the Jackson County Sheriff's Department after 29 years of service. He then joined the Jackson County Prosecutors Office as an Investigator where he was currently still employed. Bob was an avid Detroit Lions Fan but, most importantly, he was devoted to his family, friends and work.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church on Monday at 11:00 AM. Father Timothy MacDonald officiating. Cremation will follow the Funeral Mass.
The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. A Vigil service will be held at 6:30 PM. The family will also receive friends at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Church on Monday from 10:30 to 11:00 AM.
