Berry, Robert E. "Bob",

Age 88, of Jackson passed away peacefully with family members present at the Health Center at Vista Grande Villa on Thursday, February 5, 2015. He is survived by four sons, Pat (Tammi), Rob (Judy), Tim (Maribea), Steve (Denise); 10 grandchildren, Brad, Amber, Justin, Caitlin, Jonathan, Kyle, Elizabeth, Katherine, Nathaniel and Meredith; one great granddaughter, Emma; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one son John and Ann, his wife of 59 years and brothers Herbert and Howard and sister, Helen "Marge".

Bob was born in Stockbridge, MI on October 6, 1926 to Emmet and Helen (Monks) Berry. He attended High School in Stockbridge, enlisted in the Navy and served as Quartermaster in WWII. Bob graduated from The University of Detroit with a degree in Civil Engineering in 1953. He was a Senior Fire Protection Engineer and retired after 37 years from Consumers Power Company. Bob was a longtime member and usher at Queens Church. He was also a Grand Knight, 4th Degree with The Knights of Columbus.

He enjoyed all outdoor activities with his sons and the Scouts where he received the St. George Medal. Bob enjoyed boating and fishing and was also a member of Power Squadron. He belonged to many clubs; Civitan, Bridge and Lamplighters Dance, and also traveled the world. Bob's family would like to express their sincerest heartfelt thank you to the staff at the health center at VGV.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, February 12 at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church at 10:30 AM with Fr. John Whitlock officiating. The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4:30 to 7:30 PM.
