Bacon, Robert Leo

Passed away peacefully at Vista Grand Villa on May 20, 2019 at the age of 93. He graduated from St. John High School in Jackson. He was employed by Walker Manufacturing Company retiring after many years of service. He enjoyed many camping trips to Northern Michigan and fishing for salmon off the pier at Grand Haven, MI.   He is survived by his wife of 73 years Virginia; his 9 children Robert (Cindy) Bacon, Karen (Steven) Renne, Phillip (Debra) Bacon, Diane (Ed) Miller, Mary (Mark) Stille, John (Pam) Bacon, Brian (Kelly) Bacon, Mark (Tina) Bacon, Kevin (Holly) Bacon; two brothers James (Pat) Bacon and Jerry (Anne) Bacon; 20 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Leo and Elizabeth Bacon, sisters Kathleen Downey, Teresa Quinn, Doris Vanhecke, brother David Bacon and granddaughter Angela Bacon.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 24, 2019 at 12:30 PM at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church with Fr. Timothy MacDonald as the Celebrant.  Interment will follow at St. John's Catholic Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Thursday, May 23 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM with a Rosary Service at 7:00 PM.  They will also receive friends at the church on Friday, before the Mass, from 12:00 Noon to 12:30 PM.

Instead of sending flowers, the family asks donations be made to Queen's Church or Lumen Christi Catholic School.
