Rita Eder (Roman)
Of Jackson, passed away suddenly on December 6, 2024 at the age of 75. A devoted mother, cherished friend, and generous spirit, Rita's vibrant presence touched many lives.
Rita's memory will be deeply cherished by her daughter, Michelle Eder; her nieces, Mary (Manny) Jimenez and Linda Eder; great niece, Beth (Michael) Anderson; great-grandnephews, Brooks and Harvey; her dear friends; and her faithful canine companions, Miracle Maizee Blue and Bindi Sue. She will be missed by all whose lives she touched.
Rita was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert (Bob) Eder and her parents, Sidney and Teresa Roman.
Born and raised in Jackson, Rita was a proud graduate of St. John Catholic School, Class of 1967. She built a rewarding career with Consumers Energy, where she retired after many years of service. A faithful member of Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church, Rita was dedicated to giving her time and resources to causes she held dear, including Allegiance Hospice.
Rita was a spirited woman who found joy in life's simple and extraordinary moments. She lovingly referred to her shopping adventures as "retail therapy" and delighted in experiencing new restaurants. An avid Disney enthusiast, she adored Mickey Mouse, popcorn, and trips to the happiest place on earth. She found great delight in spending time with family at her cherished getaway, the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel.
She embraced her role as a mother to Michelle, a loyal friend to many, She relished bringing people together and loved the countless gatherings for her beloved groups, the GAELS Gals, and the JULIETS2. Known affectionately as "AR," Rita brought love and laughter to every occasion. She was an enthusiastic Facebook user who delighted in supporting local businesses and was admired for her incredible talent as a gift-giver.
Rita's legacy of kindness, humor, and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to know her. Her zest for life will be deeply missed but fondly remembered.
According to her wishes, cremation has taken place. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, December 16, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church with Father Timothy MacDonald officiating.
The family will receive friends at Queen's Church on Monday, December 16 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.
If desired, the family requests donations in Rita's memory to Cascades Humane Society or Allegiance Hospice.
