Of Jackson passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at the age of 95 years at Henry Ford Allegiance Health surrounded by her loving family. Rita was born December 25, 1922 in Jackson to Frank B. and Anna J. (McDonough) Kramer. She is survived by her brother-in-law, Paul (Mary Lou) Scott, sister-in-law, Dixie Foster, and over 250 nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Frederick D. Foster, her parents, three brothers, William (Bill), Joseph (Joe), and Bernard (Bum) Kramer, two sisters, Catherine Kramer and Mary Lou (Kramer) Scott, and several nieces and nephews.

Rita was considered by many of her nieces and nephews to be a mother-figure, grandmother, mentor, confidant, teacher, and friend. She was a life-long member of St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church and worked at the candy counter at Kreske's Dime Store and Woolworth's back in the 1950's. Her hobbies included crocheting, especially baby blankets for the newborns, rocking the babies, teaching everyone to tie their shoes and working on jigsaw puzzles.

Mrs. Foster is at the Desnoyer Funeral Home where a Prayer Service will be held on Monday, January 22, 2018 at 9:30 AM followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at St. John's Catholic Cemetery. Fr. Denis Spitzley will officiate at the Funeral Mass.

The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Sunday, January 21 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM.

Instead of flowers contributions to St. Mary's Church would be appreciated.
