Born May 12, 1952 passed away in the loving arms of his wife on Tuesday, April 21, 2020 at the Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home after a courageous battle with GBM Brain Cancer. He is survived by the love of his life wife Sue (Hiatt-Fitzgerald), his constant companion Cooper, daughter Taryn (Derek) Flint, Son Richard Michael "Mike" (Jill) Klimmer Jr., daughter Ashley Peterson, Stepdaughter Jordan (Craig) Pitcock, Stepson Derek Fitzgerald, 10 grandchildren Ashlyn, Abrie, Clayton, and Evie Flint, Jayda and Richard "Ricky" Michael Klimmer III, Lily and Kylie Peterson, Logan and Charlee Pitcock, the mother of his children Jill (Haines) Klimmer, brother Ron Klimmer, mother-in-law Sally Hiatt, brother and sister-in-law Mike and Debbie (Sis) Lattas, along with all his many special cousins, nieces, nephews, and out-laws. He was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Beverly Klimmer.

Rick was known as the "Bar Historian" of Jackson County. Rick was an avid fisherman (founding father of the Dog Derby), loved to watch Michigan Football and playing pool. Was a graduate of Lumen Christi High School. After High School he had many jobs including Furman's, Good Year, General Products before eventually retiring from the City of Jackson Clerk's Office in 2014. He had so many good friends "Brothas" as he called them, and will be missed by all. All were welcome to meet at the Oak Tree for the "Tuesday meeting". Rick touched so many lives and was loved by too many to mention. Rick was so proud of his family and loved them with all his heart. The biggest smiles came when seeing his grandkids. We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home for their excellent care and support. In remembrance of Rick donations can be made to Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home.

Rick was cremated and the Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2020 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church with Father Tim Nelson officiating.  Interment will follow at St. John's Catholic Cemetery.
