WHITNEY, RICHARD J. "ELI"
Of Jackson, in the loving arms of his family, Eli went to be with the Lord Friday, April 2, 2010 age 79 years. Survived by his wife Clara J. Daughters; Julie (Mike) Smith, Susan (Scott) Palmer, Kristina Thomas, Pamela (Jerry Allison) Heintzleman. Seven grandchildren; Casey, Christopher and Sarah Smith. Faun Donald, Channan and James Whitker and Jen Tate. One sister; Barbara (Joe) Bany. Sister in law Mary Whitney. Numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents Robert I. And Anna Whitney and two brothers, Robert and Daniel. Eli was a US Army Veteran, retired from Adco Products and worked at Yardman. He loved sports including baseball, football, golf and horseshoes. He enjoyed bird watching, gardening and his pond. Eli will be sadly missed by all whose lives he has touched. Mr. Whitney is at the Desnoyer Funeral Home where a Prayer Service will be held Thursday, April 8 at 9:15 AM followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church 10:00 AM. The Rev. James Shaver officiating. Cremation to follow the Funeral Mass.

Contributions to Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church or St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church would be appreciated.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. Rosary Wednesday 6 PM.
