Norkey, Richard W. "Dick"
lifelong resident of Jackson, passed away on Friday, August 13, 2010 at the age of 89 years. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 47 years, Marie. Dick is survived by his current wife of 14 years, Jane (Hammond); nine children, Christine Torello, Dave (Linda) Norkey, Tom (Betsy) Norkey, Ted (Lyn) Norkey, Ed (Joyce) Norkey, Kathy (George) Kimmel, Lori Norkey, Barb (Bruce) Layher, Jean Norkey; 19 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; five nephews; sister-in-law, Chris Norkey. He was preceded in death by his brother, Paul Norkey. Dick owned and operated Norkey Die and Mold for 17 years, served in the U.S. Navy for two years and enjoyed hunting, fishing, dancing and gardening.
Dick is at the Desnoyer Funeral Home where the family will receive friends on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A Rosary Service will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 6:00 PM.
A brief Prayer Service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 10:00 AM followed by Mass of the Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 10:30 AM. The Reverend Robert Pienta will be the celebrant.
