Minor, Richard C. "Dick"

Of Jackson, Michigan passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at the age of 86 years. Dick is survived by his beloved wife, Alice, of 62 years, loving father of Deborah (Mark) Simpson and Richard W. Minor, adored grandfather of Eric (Emily) Simpson, Brian Simpson, Matthew Simpson and Aaron Minor, and many nieces and nephews. Dick lived his entire life in Jackson, Michigan. He worked at Kent-Moore and lastly at SPX Corporation, retiring to life on the golf course and devotion to his grandsons and family. Dick was a United States Army Veteran. He was a true sports fan – who else would remain faithful to the Detroit Lions for a lifetime? He loved baseball, football, basketball, golf and always the Spartans. Dick valued integrity, honesty, and fairness. His grandsons were the light of his life and he the light of theirs.

According to his wishes, cremation has taken place. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 12:00 Noon with Father Timothy MacDonald officiating.

Visitation will take place from 11:00 am until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Great Lakes Caring Home Health and Hospice or Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute.
