Of Jackson, passed peacefully away under the loving care of his family and Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at the age of 69. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Barb; his daughter, Robyn (Eric) Case; step-sons, Jeff (Erin) Altenberger and Jamie (Ginny) Altenberger; grandchildren, Brayden, Emma, Evan, McKinley, and Hunter; step-mother, Joyce Jenkins; siblings, Marlene (Larry) Smith, Harry Miles, Pam (Carl) Boatman, Tim Jenkins, Melody (Bruce) Chapman, and Jim Jenkins; special sister-in-law, Marge Wilcox; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Betty Jenkins and Richard Jenkins Sr. and his brother, Randy.

Rich was a 1973 graduate of Northwest High School.  He had a long career at the State Prison of Southern Michigan, retiring in 2018. Rich was an avid pool player and loved sports, especially the Tigers and Red Wings. He was a friend to all he knew. He had a true love for his family, especially his grandchildren who were his pride and joy, coming to as many activities as possible. Rich loved to travel, try new foods, read sports books, antiquing, and visiting wineries.

A Funeral Service for Rich will be held at the  Desnoyer Funeral Home on Thursday, July 18, 2024 at 12:00 Noon with Reverend Bart Hall officiating.  Interment will follow at Roseland Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 17 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, July 18 from 11:00 to 12:00 Noon.
