Richard Joseph Corser

of Jackson, passed away on Monday, November 28, 2016 at the age of 61 years. He is survived by his wife, Brenda (VanDyck) Corser; children, Jon (Liz) Corser, Angie (Andy) Schirmacher; step children, Monica (Drew) Bordner, Erik (Lindsey) VanDyck; grand children, Quinn and Preston Corser, Parker and Chase Schirmacher, Brynlee and Scarlett VanDyck, Bryce Bordner; mother, Ruth Pearl (Montgomery); siblings: Terry Corser, Mike Corser, Jerry Corser, Larry Corser, Candy Corser, Elaine Corser McCoy, Tim Corser, Tom Corser; other family: in-laws, DeVerl and Anita Weller, Blaine (Laura) Weller, Sue Weller; numerous nieces and nephews and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard Corser; brothers, Bob Corser and Leonard "Buddy: Corser; nephew, Aaron McCoy; brother-in-law, Blair Weller.

Richard was an AVID hunter (far too many species to list!), fisherman and sports enthusiast. He retired as Assistant Principal/Facilities Supervisor/Teacher from Lumen Christi High School where he coached football for 30 plus years. Since leaving Lumen Christi he coached at Vandercook Lake, Michigan Center and Springport High Schools. He was a member of the 1976 Olivet Football Hall of Fame team and a member of Ducks Unlimited. He loved his grandchildren, countless friends and family.

Richard is at the Desnoyer Funeral Home where a Prayer Service will be held on Thursday, December 1 at 10:00 AM followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church at 10:30 AM with Father James Shaver as the celebrant.

The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 30 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.
