Age 34 of Jackson, Michigan passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Rey is survived by his wife of 12 years, Sarah Ramirez; Two children, Isaiah Ramirez (age 10), Nicolas Ramirez (age 6); Father, Porfirio Ramirez; Mother, Placida Sanchez; Siblings, Higinio, Julia, Jacinta, Teodoro, Esperanza, Margarito, Rosa, Epifania, Antonio, Idalia Ramirez; and many family and friends.

After a long and courageous battle with cancer for the 8th time he was finally called home to rest with our Lord. Rey was a devoted, loving husband and father, a hard-working loving kind caring man and friend to all. A member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Jackson, Michigan he had a passion for playing and watching basketball.  He was a dedicated worker for 10 years at Spring Arbor Coating. Despite his aggressive battle with cancer many years of his life he remained humble, kind, hopeful, faithful and grateful for each day he was given, using his time leaving us all with fun and loving memories that will be cherished forever. May the memories he left with us live on in our hearts forever until we meet again. We love you Rey!

Funeral Services will be held at the Desnoyer Funeral Home, 204 Blackstone Street, Jackson, on Wednesday, January 24, 2018, at 1:00 PM. Interment at St. John's Catholic Cemetery. A dinner in celebration of Rey's life will be held at Sagrado Corazon Catholic Church, 1523 Pringle Ave Jackson will follow the burial service.

The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM with a Rosary Service at 7 PM.
