Jones Jr., Raynor C. "Ray"
Born November 3, 1943 passed away on January 31, 2017 at his home in Charlotte, MI.
He is survived by his son, Scott O'Neill of Galesburg, MI; daughters, Rochelle (Tony) Pino of Battle Creek, MI, Amy (John) Rogers of Jackson, MI; three sisters, Carolyn Snell of Florida, Diane King of Michigan, and Susan (Boyd) Miller of Wisconsin; one brother, Michael Jones of Georgia; grandchildren, nieces, nephews and one great grandson. Preceded in death by his parents, Raynor C. Jones and Claire (Mosher) Jones.
He was born in Jackson, MI and a graduate of Jackson High School, class of 1961. He later studied computer science at Jackson Community College and Edison Community College. Ray had many occupations including entertainer, musician, church organist, real estate agent, and salesman. For many years he was the "piano man" at clubs in Florida, two of the latest being Hideaway Beach and Lely Palms. Before retirement in 2016, Ray was the organist at Marco Lutheran Church. He was said to know "every song in the book". He also had many hobbies including photography, travel, foreign language studies, sewing and painting.
Ray wanted to be remembered for his hard work and punctuality. He was very intelligent and fun-loving. At the end of any interaction, he always said "God Bless You".
Cremation has taken place per Ray's wishes. A memorial ceremony will take place at Marco Lutheran Church at a later date.
