Raymond Joseph Shaughnessy

Ray, born May 28, 1959 in Jackson, Michigan to John and Anna May Shaughnessy, passed away unexpectedly on December 7, 2025 with family by his side. He was a 1977 graduate of Lumen Christi High School and worked almost forty years as a machinist here in Jackson. Ray loved his siblings, his nieces and nephews and hosting the family on Christmas Eve every year. He was a loyal Detroit Lions fan whether they were losing or winning. Ray is survived by his brothers and sisters: Tony (Kieran), Pat, Dave (Tammy), Rita Brasseur (Scott, Phil (Leslie), and Steve (Deb). Ray is also survived by his Aunt Mary Smith, his nieces and nephews, and Shaughnessy and Clark Family Cousins.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025 at 12:00 Noon at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 711 N. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Jackson, with Father Chas Canoy officiating.  A private interment will be held at St. John Catholic Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at St. John Church on Friday from 11:00 to 12:00 Noon.

Instead of sending flowers, contributions to St. John the Evangelist Catholic School would be appreciated.
