Tomczyk, Phyllis I.

Of Jackson, passed away under the loving care of her family and the staff of Heartland Hospice on Sunday, February 11, 2018 at the age of 88 years. Survived by her husband of 67 years, Ed; two sons, Jim (Nancy) and Joe; three grandchildren, Jenni (Andy) Helmholdt, David Tomczyk, and Evan Tomczyk; sister, Helen (Bernie) Mohr; brother-in-law, John Korc; special cousin, Pat (Dan) Grudzinski and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, Felix and Cecelia Kaplenski and sister, Dolores Korc.

Phyllis retired as Food Service Manager at Lumen Christi High School. She was a longtime active member of St. John's Church where she was in charge of the funeral dinners.

A special thank you to Ron and Rose Mason and their children, Gianna and Andy and to special neighbors, Dave and Liz Hoffius and their children, Avery and Boston for the love and support they have shown throughout the years.

According to her wishes, cremation has taken place. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 11:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 711 N. Francis Street, Jackson, MI with Fr. James Shaver officiating.

The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 10:30 to 11:00 AM.

Instead of flowers, contributions to Heartland Hospice would be appreciated.
