Peter J. Malec

Of Knoxville, TN passed away suddenly on January 21, 2024 at the age of 62.

Pete was born in Jackson, MI on February 9, 1961.  He is survived by three sisters, Kathy (Robin) Fitzgibbons, Anne (Terry) Wegrzyn and Lisa (Tony) Green and also by sister-in-law Mary Malec.

Pete was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Carol Malec and brother Larry Malec.

Pete attended East Jackson Schools and graduated in 1979.  He attended ITT Technical Institute where he graduated in 1981 with an associates degree in Architectural Engineering Technology.  He worked in Kennewick, Washingston before coming back to Jackson to work for Commonwealth Associates.  He then moved to Tennessee where he was currently working for Pilot Oil.  There he worked with a tightly knit team and will be greatly missed.

Pete was a very proud "uncle" to his many nieces and nephews.  He was a creative soul who loved to read and listen to his large collection of vinyl records.  He was fascinated by the universe and outer space and the "unexplained".  And above all a die hard University of Michigan and Lions fan.

According to Pete's wishes, cremation has taken place.  Services will be held at Desnoyer Funeral Home, 204 N. Blackstone, Jackson, MI on Friday, February 9, 2024 at 11:00 AM with Father Robert Pienta officiating.  Family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of the Service.
