LODISE, PETER PAUL
Of Jackson, went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 22, 2013 age 88 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rocco and Maria Lodise, Brothers Augustine, Amelio, Vincent, John, and Peter (infant) and very special friend of many years, Mary Abel. Peter was survived by his loving daughter Maria (David) Gutekunst, grandchildren Rocco, Romeo, and Giuliana and special friend Cindy Maxson of Jackson also daughter Cheryl (Burton) TenBrink of Kalamazoo, grandson's Cory and Carl, and six great-grandchildren. He was also survived by many special friends including those at The Old Country Buffet in Jackson where Peter visited often with his friend Dennis Cunningham.
Peter graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1942 then proudly served his country as a Private in the 236th United States Army Air Force from May 1943-September 1945. Peter attended Jackson Community College and graduated from Western Michigan University in 1949 with a Bachelor's Degree in Business then went on to become a CPA.
He was a proud business man and entrepreneur who lived life to the fullest and exactly the way he wanted to. His greatest joy was his family. He will miss meeting with them for breakfast and stopping by to watch his grandchildren play or perform as he called it. His grandchildren were the light of his life and he enjoyed all the time he spent with them. He knew how much he was loved and he never ended a phone conversation without saying "I Love You".
Mr. Lodise is at the Desnoyer Funeral Home where a prayer service will be held on Saturday at 11:30 AM followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church at 12:00 Noon with Father James Shaver officiating. A private Entombment will take place in the Lodise Family Mausoleum at St. John's Catholic Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Friday, April 26th, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a Rosary service at 6:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers contributions to St. John's Catholic Church would be appreciated.
