Of Jackson, Michigan, passed away at home surrounded by family on March 22, 2025 at the age of 77. She is survived by her loving husband George (Corky) of 57 years; sons Chris (Jessie Torrey) and Jon (Dana) Fillmore. Paula is also survived by her grandchildren Jessica, Zachary (Elysee), Rain, and Dash Fillmore; sister Sue (Don) Trefry, brothers Bob (Sally) and Marty (Carole) Markiewicz, and sister Terry (Chris) Burkey; plus several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Leonard and Catherine Markiewicz; in-laws George (Herb) and Doris Fillmore; sister-in-law Caren Leady and her son Joey.

Paula dedicated over 20 years to L.H. Field's in Jackson, starting her career as a high school CO-OP student and advancing to Buyer and Manager positions until the store closed in 1987. After her time at Field's, she worked in management for Seifert's, Montgomery Ward, Victoria's Secret, Jacobson's Warehouse, and Target, before retiring in 2011. Paula cherished traveling with Corky to watch her grandchildren's sports and performances, as her family meant the world to her and she treasured every moment with them.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Michigan Medicine Neuro-Oncology and Department of Radiation Oncology, and Arbor Hospice for their compassionate care throughout Paula's journey. Paula often expressed comfort in saying, "I have people on the other side."

According to her wishes cremation has taken place.  A celebration of her life will be held at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Monday, April 7, 2025 at 12:00 Noon with the Rev. Robert Bacik officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, April 7, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon.  A private interment will take place at Roseland Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Paula's name may be made to Breakthrough T1D (formerly JDRF).
