Scott, Paul Eugene
91, of Parma, MI, passed away at Henry Ford Allegiance Hospital on Saturday, February 29, 2020. Paul was born on August 17, 1928, in Jackson MI, to W Cecil Scott and Vera R (Frederick) Scott. He attended Jackson High School. He married Mary Lou Kramer on May 26, 1951, who preceded him in death in 1974. He married Mary Lou (Van Gieson) Hendershott on June 26, 1982. Paul is survived by his wife of 37 years, Mary Lou (Van Gieson) Scott; five daughters, Mary Kay "Kay" (Patrick) Loos of Simpsonville, SC, Sharon (Matt) Augustine, Sue (Tim) Leece of Jackson, MI, Beth (Larry) Tuckerman of Adrian, MI, and Linda (Doug) Scholl of Bruce Crossing, MI; eight sons, David (Linda) Scott, of Jackson, MI, Doug (Linda) Scott of Grass Lake, MI, Dennis (Kristy) Scott of Simpsonville, SC, Dick (Barb) Scott, Mike (Nance) Scott of Parma, MI, Tom (Robyn) Scott of Louisville, KY, Joe (Marney) Hendershott of Richard's Landing, ON Canada, and Mick (Jaime) Hendershott of Hanover, MI; daughter-in-law, Ruth Scott of Spring Arbor, MI; 47 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; one sister, Irene Trumble of CO; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Paul was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Mary Lou (Kramer) Scott; two sons, Donald E. Scott and Daniel J. Scott; one sister, Gwen Trumble; and his brother, Larry Scott.
Paul worked at Aeroquip Corporation as an electrician for 38 years until his retirement on October 1, 1986. During that time he also had his own business, Scott Electric Co. After retirement, he went on to work at Casler's Hardware and Spring Arbor Lumber. Paul and Mary Lou were former members of the Western High School Athletic Boosters. They had children in sports at Western High for over 20 years. Paul's travels included visiting Civil War historical sites and lighthouses throughout the US and Canada. He enjoyed painting pictures of lighthouses, horses, barns, and houses that he saw on these travels with his fellow "Plein Air" artists. He has paintings hanging in countless homes and establishments around Jackson and the world. Paul attended St Mary Star of the Sea Church, Jackson, and St Catherine Laboure Catholic Church, Concord.
The family extends a special thank you to the staff of Ridgecrest Health Care where he was a resident for almost 9 years.

According to his wishes, cremation has taken place. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, August 17, 2020 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church, Jackson with Fr. Denis Spitzley officiating. Private interment was held at St. John's Catholic Cemetery.
