Patrice Bisbee Vermeulen

Our beloved Patrice Bisbee Vermeulen, 76, of Clarklake, MI, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 13, 2022, after a short battle with pancreatic cancer.

Patty was born on May 29, 1945. She was born to, and was preceded in death by Leland S. Bisbee Jr. and Margaret Clark Bisbee of Jackson, MI.

Patty was a graduate of Jackson High School and Michigan State University with a degree in Interior Design. She was a Kappa Kappa Gamma and served on the Advisory Board and was the National Convention chairman for six years. She remained active in the Alumni Association.

She started and enjoyed her wedding business, I Do, I Do Wedding Specialists, for 26 years of the 40 she lived in Phoenix.

In 2017, Patty moved back to her hometown of Jackson and married her high school sweetheart, Lynn Vermeulen. She loved living on Clarklake. She became very active with the Jackson Symphony Guild, Friday Club, and all golf and bridge activities at the Country Club of Jackson.

Patty met and loved so very many friends and family during her lifetime. Her husband, Lynn, and her children and grandchildren were truly the light of her life. It was apparent that she loved life to its fullest. She was always welcoming, caring, loving, engaging and fun.

Growing up at the Belvedere Club in Charlevoix, MI was always a huge part of her summers. She learned many sports activities including her favorites- tennis, golf, archery, swimming, skiing, Capture the Flag, etc! Best of all she loved the Gele B and the regular cocktail parties on Lake Charlevoix. Time spent aboard the Gele B gave unparalleled time with family and friends.

She is survived by her loving husband, Lynn V. Vermeulen, Clarklake, MI; beautiful children Lindsay Nye (Dan Meredith), Laguna Beach, CA, and Shelby Proud (Devin), Hayfork, CA; grandchildren Lila and Henry Day, Declan and Holden Proud; step children Nate Vermeulen (Leslie), Jackson, MI, Maggie Bissett (Brett), Portage, MI and their children Reese, Lincoln, Lyla, Rowdy, and Colt; brothers Leland (Biz) Bisbee (Valerie), Paradise Valley, AZ, Clark Bisbee (Katie), Jackson, MI, and sisters Margaret Hermann (David), St. Louis, MO, Constance Amend (Mike), Rio Verde, AZ, and her nieces and nephews: Marlo, Kristin, Casey, Megan, Leland, Peter, Jayne and Walker as well as her 15 great nieces and nephews.

A private funeral service for the family will be held at Desnoyer Funeral Home, on Thursday, April 21, 2022. There will be a Celebration of Life for Patty at the Country Club of Jackson from 1:00pm – 3:00pm.
