Pamela Jill (Hempstone) Benn

of Nashville, Tennessee, passed peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, July 23 following a long illness. Born January 21, 1957 in Jackson, Michigan, to William and the late Betty Hempstone, Jill is survived by her loving and beloved husband Tim, daughter Casie Jill (Billy McIntosh) Shannon, treasured grandson, Brady McIntosh, and sons John and Rick (Genny) Shannon. Jill will be lovingly remembered by her sister Linda Mahoney, nephew Jon Cavender, former spouse Mark Shannon, and lifelong friend Leslie Scott Schoof, along with other family and friends. In addition to her mother Betty, Jill was predeceased by her sister Sally and two adored Yorkie companions, Fancy and Jack.

One of Jill's greatest joys in life was caring for animals; she welcomed stray dogs and cats with compassion and love, and was a member of the ASPCA. Jill loved spending time on the beach or on the water with family and friends, especially in northern Michigan and the Florida Keys.

A celebration of Jill's life will be held on Saturday, August 1 at 1:00 PM at the Desnoyer Funeral Home, 204 N. Blackstone, Jackson, MI with Rev. Karen Kelley officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, prior to the service, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
