Reid (O'Dowd), Norma "Joan"

of Jackson, passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at the age of 83 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael J. O'Dowd and her brother, Paul Reid. She is survived by her three sons, Tony (Estelle) O'Dowd, Michael (Cami) O'Dowd, and Mark (Val) O'Dowd; eleven wonderful grandchildren; many loving great-grandchildren; one brother, Bradley (Bobby) Reid; special and supportive brothers and sisters of her husband, Mike; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Joan retired from Jackson Public Schools as a Teacher's Aide and then moved to Florida and enjoyed many wonderful years and friends. She enjoyed dancing, gardening, sewing, and she devoted her time to volunteer work.

The family would like to thank the wonderful care and compassion shown to Joan by the staff of Ganton's, Highland Assisted Living, and Southern Care Hospice.

According to her wishes, cremation has taken place and private inurnment will be held at St. John's Cemetery.

A Celebration of Joan's Life will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at the Desnoyer Funeral Home from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM with sharing of memories at 3:30 PM.
