Nora Thomas of Vienna, Missouri pass away on Tuesday, June 11.
Nora is survived by her son CJ Thomas(Tina), her brother Francis Stratman and her Grandchildren Corey Kimball (Heather), Alisha Kaminski (Mike), Dustin Thomas (Toni), Stephanie Calverley (Adam), Justin Whitney (Nicole), Amber Mead (Dean), Courtney Whitney. Great Grandchildren Jayden Kimball, Charlie Mead, Brady Mead, Lily Mead, Mackenzie Whitney, Gavin Whitney, Cailyn Kimball, Declan Calverley, Sloane Calverley, Ashtyn Thomas, Griffin Thomas and Christian Whitney.
She was preceded in death by her husband Calvin Thomas and daughters Vera Thomas and Vickie Thomas.
Her dedication to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren was not just a responsibility, but her life's work. She poured her heart and soul into raising them, nurturing them, and providing them with the tools and support they needed to succeed in life. Her life's work was a testament to her unwavering commitment to her family and her desire to see them thrive.
Nora retired from Jackson County Medical Care. Where she continued to volunteer for another 20 years. She was a giving person and dedicated many years to helping her fellow senior citizens by volunteering for Meals on Wheels, calling bingo, making paczkis and transporting many to doctor visits. She was a member of St. Joseph's Guild for many years. She was chosen Senior Volunteer of the year 2004, Outstanding Volunteer 2005 and Distinguished Citizen 2009.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, June 18 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 707 N. Waterloo, Jackson, Michigan with Father Robert Pienta officiating. The interment will follow at Roseland Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Monday, June 17 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 to 8:00 PM with a Rosary Service at 7:30 PM. The family will also receive friends at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Tuesday, June 18 from 10:30 to 11:00 AM.
