The way it was seen and lived by:
~"Dave" Myron Hayslett~
11~24~1941  -  10~15~2020

Everyone often always says, "You only live once." - No. That isn't true. You LIVE every single nanosecond, you transition once in this lifetime. Things always happen for a reason (known or unbeknownst to us). There are no coincidences.

Dave passed away peacefully, surrounded by his extraordinary, loving revered daughter, Sara Hayslett (Ryan Worden) and grand-daughter, Alexis Hayslett, with the assistance of hospice at Henry Ford Allegiance Health in Jackson, Michigan. He passed away on a beautiful Friday afternoon, October 15, 2020 under a gorgeous sunset at the age of 72.

Dave cherished his children and treasured his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was born in Oakhill, WV in Fayetteville County. He enjoyed family get-togethers with friends and family. Dave enjoyed keeping a small indoor garden, his two cats, almost all sports, especially all Detroit teams, humongous motorcycle and sports car enthusiast, the biggest movie buff we've ever met!!!  He was the best "Dave"-of-all-trades. Dave was a Vietnam Veteran of the United States Army, serving for three years and was stationed in Germany. He retired from Ford Motor Company after 33½ years.

Dave was the pillar and foundation of our family, with the strength, understanding and wisdom to hold all of the family together at any needed call, throughout his lifetime; with ease and confidence. He taught us how to live. It came naturally to him to have the right comforting words or what just seemed to be a simple grin and hug to get you through a tough time. Nothing was ever out, with us three daughters, and then later, the grandchildren, especially, Alexis (known as his Babydoll) were especially close.

Loving to the point of having two biological children, and picking one, like a beautiful, adorned flower and adopting, Sara J. Hayslett by the age four.

Dave was preceded in death by his Father, Myron Lamont Hayslett and his Mother, Victoria Ellen Hayslett (Adams); daughter, Dana Marie Hayslett (age 49); grandson, Emiilo Rite Hayslett; Aunts, Bernice (Billy) Adams and Juanita Adams.

Remember! This was his strife, his fight, his victory and his documentary. Don't add anything and don't take anything from his story! This was his one time the focus was his. Rest easy dad. See ya soon! Later!

Dave was always a very charitable man. It's a kind gesture to donate. In Dave Hayslett's memory, please make a donation to the American Cancer Society or the Desnoyer Funeral Home for the less fortunate to have a funeral they may not have been able to afford.
