FLACK (HACKETT) MYRA GERALDINE
Passed away at Allegiance Health Friday, October 16, 2009 at the age of 94. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Joseph L. Flack, Sr. She leaves three sons, Joseph, Jr. of Ann Arbor, Robert (Kathy) of Hanover, James (Victoria "Bunny") of Jackson and daughter, Cynthia Flack of Powell, Ohio. She had six grandchildren, Cathleen Tice, Heidi Gustine, Michael Flack, Katelyn Flack, David Flack, Andrew E. Keith and two great grandchildren, Natalie Gustine and Eve Tice. Mrs. Flack was born in Pittsford, Michigan on November 25, 1914 to Ray and Jessie Hackett. She graduated from Pittsford High School in 1932 and continued her education at Cleary Business College and gained her Masters Degree in Education from Eastern Michigan University. She started her teaching career of 45 years at the Jefferson one room school house on Jefferson Rd., teaching all grades. She later taught in the Sandstone-Parma one room school house. She finished her teaching career at Arnold Elementary School in Michigan Center where she taught first grade for 30 years. Besides teaching and raising her children, she also worked for her husband at Farm Meat Market in Jackson and the Clark Lake Provision of Clark Lake. Throughout her life she was active in many organizations including the German-American Club, Harriet Myer Business and Professional Woman's Club, Eastern Star, Daughters of the American Revolution, and St. Joseph Catholic Church Woman's Guild. Mrs. Flack was a very active and vivacious woman who enjoyed traveling and spending time at her cottage in Houghton Lake, MI. Mrs. Flack is at the Desnoyer Funeral Home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, October 22, 2009 11:00 am at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. The Rev. James Shaver officiating. Private burial will take place after a gathering at St. John's Parish Center.

The family will receive friends at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church on Thursday from 10 to 11 am.
