of Jackson, MI, passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2013 under the loving care of her family and the compassionate staff of Allegiance Hospice after fighting a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She was 81.

Born in Kokomo, IN on September 25, 1932 to Jennette & Paul R. Moss, Monie graduated from Kokomo High School. Monie married Myles A. Adams and they shared five children. Later, in 1967, Monie married Charles "Charlie" Irestone. Now with a blended family and sharing a child, their marriage would withstand the test of time lasting over 45 years. She would later earn an Associates of Arts Degree from Jackson Community College and CPS (Certified Professional Secretary) designation.

Left to cherish her memory are brothers, Walter (Angela) Moss and Dwayne (Susie) Moss, all of Kokomo, IN.; children, Gregory Adams and Theresa Adams (both from IL); Mardi Adams (Jackson, MI); Carol Adams (Oxnard, CA); Chuck Irestone (Missoula, MT); Keith (Christine) Irestone (Phoenix, AZ); Peter Irestone (TX). Grandchildren, Buddy (Traci) Adams, Mike Doyle (Regina), Jim Adams, Kristen Corser (Matt), Amber Adams, Eric Irestone; great-grandchildren, Cody (Heather) Adams & Brendan Adams, Jacob & Colin Tidwell, Adam Carlson, Calob Vinton, Nathan & Evan Adams; great-great granddaughter, Baby Lizzy Adams.

Monie is also survived by many special nieces and nephews (and their children) across the miles including Laura (Bill) Levine, Nick Moss, Mindy Ortell, Tony Moss, Paul Moss, Arthur (Bonnie) Lefebrve, Larry (Sandy) Lefebrve, Scott Blaney, Colleen Blaney, Pat Blaney, Tim Blaney, Bunny (Pete) Tinsley; Roger (Tina) Lefebrve, Greg Lefebrve, Tim Tinsley, Daniel Tinsley, Nathaniel Amos, Adam Blaney, Hannah & Jack Lefebvre and their families. Monie was loved by countless friends and neighbors.

Monie was preceded in death by her beloved husband "Charlie" (2012); son, Bruce Adams, Sr. (2008), parents, Paul R. Moss & Jennette Doerr (Moss, Clawson), stepfather John J. Clawson.

Monie retired from the City of Jackson in 1993 after 17 years of dedicated service in Personnel & Labor Relations, Finance and Water Departments. She was also employed by Crankshaft Machine Company (Jackson) and several employers in Chicago and Kokomo.

Monie was an active member of St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church serving on Worship Commission and Ladies of Charity (formerly Catholic Daughters). She was actively involved in many notable service organizations including: Catholic Charities Respite Care volunteer, Jackson County United Way, Diocesan Department of Aging, Spring Arbor Boy Scout Troop #144 (long-standing committee member and secretary), Business & Professional Women's Club and Professional Secretaries International.

Monie and Charlie loved to travel and enjoyed their grandchildren often taking them along on vacation and special excursions.
Monie is at Desnoyer Funeral Home where a Prayer Service will be held on Tuesday at 9:30 AM followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church at 10:00 AM. The Mass will be celebrated by Father Timothy Nelson. Her cremains will be interred at Spring Arbor Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Desnoyer Funeral Home on Monday from 4–8 PM, with a Rosary Service at 6:00 PM.

Memorial contributions to St. Mary's Star of the Sea Catholic Church or Allegiance Hospice would be greatly appreciated.
