Semenchuk, Montserrat (Monse)
On Thursday, October 28, 2021, our beloved mother, Montserrat Semenchuk went home to be with the Lord and her husband of 45 years Ray Semenchuk and her sister Monina.
Monse was born in the Philippines on June 12, 1936, and lived a beautiful and fruitful life until the age of 85. She devoted herself to her family, her deep Catholic faith, and to the less fortunate. Monse was devoted to her seven children, fourteen grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. She loved spending time with the family, preparing wonderful meals, traveling, and gardening. She actively served at her parish, Queen of the Miraculous Medal, as a member of the choir, Open Door Disciples, prayer intercessor, daily Mass attendee, and a strong advocate for the sanctity of human life as a volunteer for Birth Line. For almost three decades she spent every Friday afternoon in Eucharistic adoration at the Divine Mercy chapel. She gave generously to countless charities and was quick to come to the aid of anyone in need. Her grace and inner joy touched the lives of many who saw in her an authentic witness of the Christian life.
She is survived by her brother Dr. Frank Celis, her children and their spouses: Steve and Jessica, Virginia and Enrico (Imperial), Susan and Edward (Powers), Liza and Armin (Buchter), Michael and Jennifer, Joanna, and Andrew and Tara. She will also be missed greatly by her grandchildren and their spouses: Kristina and Jackson, Erik, Matthew, Joshua, John Paul and Katie, Giannina and Tanner, Joey, Alix, Chelsea, CJ, Gabrielle, Sierra, Claire, Ethan, and great-grandchildren Aislin, Lucia, Leo, and Clara.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church with Father Timothy MacDonald officiating. The Funeral Mass will be live streamed on Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church's Facebook Page. A private interment will be held at St. John's Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Queen's Church on Tuesday from 12:00 Noon until 1:00 PM.
Instead of sending flowers, contributions to Birthline of Jackson would be appreciated.
