Of Jackson, Michigan passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 4, 2023 at the age of 59. Mike was born to Bud and Shirley Van Vorst on July 3, 1964 in Jackson, Michigan.

He was a graduate of Vandercook Lake High School and JCC. During his life he worked for Secord Wholesale Meat Co, TRW and Menards. Mike was a quiet natured man with a great source of advice, encouragement, and love for his family. He enjoyed being a father and all that came with it. His physical strength of years past, gave way to inner strength and fortitude as he
battled diabetes and kidney disease, without ever a complaint.

Mike leaves behind his wife of 26 years Toni; children, Jerred, Benjamin, and Gabrielle; sisters, Denise (Jim) Wolcott, Diana Van Vorst, and Pam (Marty) Kelly; Furbaby Scooby Doo; and mother and father in law, Dee and Jerry Schell. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bud and Shirley Van Vorst.

Mike is at the Desnoyer Funeral Home where a Prayer Service will be held on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at 12:30 PM followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 PM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Robert Pienta officiating. Interment to follow at St. John Catholic Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday August 9 from 11:00 to 12:30 PM.
