SLOWINSKI, MICHAEL H.

Of Gilletts Lake. Loving husband of Sara. Loving stepfather to Jacob Anderson, Joseph (Ashley) Anderson, Jana Anderson. Brother to William (Jan) Slowinski. Passed away unexpectedly on May 19, 2011, at the age of 56. Known affectionately to his family and friends as Slo, he retired from the Jackson County Sheriff's Department as a deputy after 25 years of service, with many of those years being assigned to the Grass Lake community. Slo was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Barbara Slowinski; and his beloved uncle and aunt, John and Margaret Slowinski. Slo was a graduate of Lumen Christi High School and an alumni of Michigan State University. There was never a truer Spartan fan than Slo. To his family and close friends, he was known for his hilarious "Sloisms". Remember these? "I have COD" (should be OCD); referred to a contestant on Celebrity Apprentice as "Meatball" (should be Meatloaf); "I love Hoopers" (should be Whoppers); "That took off like a rock" (when he hit a good drive while golfing); and "That putt was as straight as a dime" (no one ever figured that one out). Slo enjoyed life to the fullest everyday. He loved fishing, boating, golfing, video poker cooking, vacationing and spending time with his family, friends and his beloved dog, Molly. He will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him. An open house celebrating Slo's life will be held Saturday, June 18, 2011 starting at 3:00 p.m. at the home of Mike and Gail Williamson, 2009 Fox Road, Jackson, MI. Slo would love it if you wore green and white to the open house. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the family or to ones choice.
