Spaan, Michael Jan Richard
2/21/1954 – 3/15/2022
Michael "Warren" Spaan went to be with his Lord and Savior on March 15, 2022. Mike is survived by his Mother, Mary Ann Spaan, His Children, Miles Spaan, Adriane (Ryan) Earl, His Brothers, Mark (Karen) Spaan, and Patrick Spaan, His Sisters, Cynthia Risinger, Johanna (Ken) Duffek, His Grandson's, Wyatt, Tucker, and Theodore. Many Nieces and Nephews and Great Nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by his Father, Arnold Spaan.
Mike graduated from Parkside High School in 1972. Mike was a wonderful father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He loved his children so very much. He loved his grandchildren and spending special times with them creating lasting memories. He loved to tinker and help out anyone who was in need. He was a vital part of a family development, Lake Wood Glen, that he took much pride in. After retiring from Jackson Glass Works, he spent most of his time working on the common ground of Lake Wood Glen and helping multiple residents with anything from yard work to painting. He enjoyed being outside and helping those who needed it.
Later in life Mike grew to love shooting sporting clays. He was an active member of the Brooklyn Sportsman Club where he would spend his time shooting with his group of friends known as the 3 O'clockers. He always looked forward to Tuesdays as he was doing what he loved. If you knew Mike, you knew that he always had a story to tell, big or small. He was a wonderful person. He was such an amazing neighbor and friend. He had his faith and he loved God. He was an usher at the 7 O'clock mass for Queen of the Miraculous Medal Parish which was something he looked forward to every Sunday. He touched so many lives and will be missed by so many.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, March 22 at 10:00 AM at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church with Father Timothy MacDonald officiating.
The family will receive friends at Queen's Church on Tuesday, March 22 from 9:00 to 10:00 AM.
Contributions can be made to the Brooklyn Sportsman Club in his name.
