Michael "Mick" J. Grandy

 Michael J. “Mick” Grandy of Jackson, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 30, 2026 at the age of 56 years. He is survived by his son, Aidan Grandy; mother, Mary Rooney; brother, Brian Grandy; nephew, Keegan Grandy; aunts and uncles, Susan (Jim) Schultz, Ann (Manuel) Lopez, special uncle, Patrick (Susie) Rooney, Jane (Mark) Lannen, Beth (Bill) Gross, and Theresa (Darin) Aldridge; and step mother, Cathleen Grandy. He was preceded in death by his father, Michael H. Grandy and his grandparents, Joseph Rooney, Mary Rooney and Geraldine Rooney.

After graduation, Mick enlisted in the United States Army. He was an avid U of M, Detroit Red Wings, Detroit Tigers, and Detroit Lions fan, loved all sports, and enjoyed spending time outdoors. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Cremation has taken place and the Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 13, 2026 at 11:30 AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Chas Canoy officiating.

The family will receive friends at the Church on Friday, November 13 from 10:30 to 11:30 AM.
