MICHAEL J. CAMPBELL

Michael James Campbell, age 74, of Jackson passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, August 27, 2014. Mike is survived by his devoted wife of 49 years, Mary; children Carolyn (John) Cekander of Grand Rapids, Susan (Tim) Baker of Silver Spring, MD, Kristin (Dustin) Hoogendoorn of Kalamazoo, and Scott (Dan) Campbell of New York City; siblings Sr. Carolyn Campbell, IHM, of Monroe, Tom (Sherrie) Campbell of Jackson and Mary (James) Dwyer of Jackson; 7 grandchildren (Kate Cekander, Kristi Cekander, Nathan Cekander, Nicholas Baker, Michael Baker, Clare Baker and Jackson Hoogendoorn) and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Mike was employed at Consumers Energy of Jackson for 38 years, retiring in 1997 as a leader in the IT department. He was devoted to friends, family and his faith.

Mike is at the Desnoyer Funeral Home where a Prayer Service will be held on Tuesday, September 2 at 10:00 AM followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Jackson. Father James Shaver will be the celebrant at the funeral Mass.

Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Monday, September 1 at Desnoyer Funeral Home with a Rosary Service at 6:30 PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations are greatly appreciated to St. John's Church or Great Lakes Caring Hospice.
