Age 78, passed away peacefully at his home in Jackson on April 18, 2024, surrounded by family.
Mike is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Kathy, and his four children: John (Kristine) Brady, Deirdre (Matt) Jagst, Kelly (Matt) Kammerzell, and Dan (Tara) Brady. He created lasting memories with his 11 grandchildren: Justin, Colin, and Ryan Brady; Lauren, Megan, and Olivia Jagst; Sean and Erin Kammerzell; and Rylan, Daniel, and Maden Brady. He will be dearly missed by his sister Shelia (Mark) Weiss, his many nieces and nephews who adored him, as well as his good friends.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Victor Brady, and his sister Maurneen Arens.
Mike was born on May 11, 1945, in Detroit, MI. He graduated from St. Gabriel's High School and the University of Detroit. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Vietnam War. He retired after working 40 years in the steel industry.
Throughout his life, Mike enjoyed golfing, trips to the casino, breakfast with friends (with a little Keno), playing cards and games, especially with his grandchildren, sharing his sense of humor, and watching endless episodes of game shows. Mike never missed an opportunity to support his children and grandchildren in all of their activities.
The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM with a Vigil Service at 7:30 PM. The Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at 12:00 Noon at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church with Father Timothy MacDonald officiating. According to his wishes, cremation has taken place and private inurnment will be held at a later date. In lieu of sending flowers, contributions to Lumen Christi Varsity Hockey or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
