Melvin B. Turk Sr.

of Jackson, passed away on Friday, August 25, 2017 at the age of 93 years. He was
preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Marcine Mary Turk. He is survived by his eight children, Patricia (Joseph) Eisenhauer, Rosemary Turk, Marianne (Gene) Sickels, Christine Ehrman, Annette (Jose) Vasquez, Michelle (Gary) Leuthard, Melvin Jr. (Mary) Turk, and John (Melissa) Turk; 11 grandchildren, Debra Allen, Carolyn Baron, Scott Eisenhauer, Suzanne Pish, Michael Sickels, Sara Stroble, Reyna Quintana, Alicia Vasquez, Virginia Vasquez, Leanne Leuthard, and Tracy Turk; and 12 great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Lawrence, Kenneth, Henry, and twin brother, Alvin.

Melvin was a longtime and active member of Queens Church, was a member of Council 609 of the Knights of Columbus, and was also a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus.

Mr. Turk is at the Desnoyer Funeral Home where a Prayer Service will be held on Monday, August 28 at 10:00 AM followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church at 10:30 AM with Father Timothy MacDonald as the celebrant. Interment to follow at St. John's Catholic Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, August 27 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM with a Rosary Service and the Knights of Columbus Chalice Service beginning at 7:30 PM. The family will also receive friends on Monday, August 28 at the funeral home from 9:00 to 10:00 AM.
