Of Jackson passed away Thursday, May 17, 2018 under the loving care of her family and the staff at the Allegiance Hospice Home age 91 years. Survived by three sons; John D. (Donna) Spencer II, Peter (Kelly) Spencer and Paul (Andrea) Spencer. Eight grandchildren; John D. III, Chelsea, Michael, Sarah, Benjamin, Emily, Christopher and Elizabeth. Several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death her husband of 50 years, John D. Spencer, sister Rosemary Kadlec and brother in law Larry Kadlec. Maxine graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in education. She taught first grade at McCulloch Elementary and first grade at Our Lady of Fatima School. She was a volunteer in the reading room at St. John Catholic Elementary School. Maxine loved her longtime home, enjoyed nature and spending time with her family.

According to her wishes Mrs. Spencer has been cremated. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at 11:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Father James Shaver officiating.

The family will receive friends at the Church on Tuesday, May 29 from 10:30 to 11:00 AM.

Instead of flowers contributions to St. John Catholic Elementary School would be appreciated.
