Beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend passed away on January 6, 2021 at the age of 82 years. He is survived by his 5 children, Matt (Kim) Lefere, Jacqueline (Jim) Good, Jean (Tim) Morris, Diane (Dave) Rumler and Terry Lefere; 15 Grandchildren Bryan, Elise (Charles) Riley, Drew and Lauren Lefere, Kelli and Andrew (AJ) Good, Christopher (Mac), Kate and Mitch Morris, Grace, Nathan, Mia and Nick Rumler, Brooke and Paige Lefere; one great grandchild Patrick Lefere Riley; brothers and sisters MaryJo (Jerry) Kelly, James Lefere, Janet (Dick) Kalahar, Gerald (Carol) Lefere, Anne (Bill) Best and Cathy (Jerry) Sykes; Brother and Sister-in-laws Carole (Bill) Wilkinson, Kathy Turner, Robert (Cheri) Johnson, Richard (MaryAnn) Johnson, Margie (Jim) Cook, Dorothy (Pete) Kuhlman; Special Friend Judy King; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife Rita Ann (Johnson) in 1997; parents Maurice P. and Elizabeth (Betty) Lefere ; In-laws Matt and Dorothy Johnson; Brothers-in-law and Sisters-in-laws Marylou (James) Lefere, Judy Jodis, Eileen Seckinger, Spike and Chris Johnson.

A native of Jackson, Maurice graduated from St. John's School in 1956 went on to receive his BA in Business from the University of Notre Dame in 1960, a lifelong employee of Lefere Forge retiring as President in 2003, Army National Guard of Michigan, a member of the Knights of Columbus, a volunteer at Henry Ford Allegiance Hospital and a key supporter of Queens of the Miraculous Medical Church and Lumen Christi Middle/High School. Maurice enjoyed time with his family, his friends, golf, bowling. Maurice will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Due to Covid-19, a private Mass of Christian Burial will be held for the family at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church on Monday, January 11, 2021 at 10:30 AM with Fr. Timothy MacDonald officiating. A private interment will follow at St. John's Catholic Cemetery. The Funeral Mass will be live streamed on the church's Facebook page.

The family would like to thank the staff at Mission Point and Elara Hospice Care for the wonderful care they provided to our father.
