Born December 21st 1931 in Jackson, MI passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2013. Preceded in death by her husband of 57 years Norman R. Zemer. She is survived by her 7 children, Mark (Katherine), Kathleen (Kathy), Christopher (Joy), Matthew (Pam), John (Laurie), Patrick, David (Barbara), 8 Grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren, One Sister in Law, Sylvia Masis, several nieces and nephews. She retired from the State of Michigan after 33 years of service as an Administrative Manager. Marylyn enjoyed playing golf, quilting, reading and loved music. She enjoyed going to Texas during the winter and being with her family. She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Parish for 50 years where she played the organ for 13 years and worked with the school children and also worked with the funeral dinner gang. She also played the organ for Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hudson MI. Marylyn belonged to the Friends of the Jackson County Library, Pieces N Patches Quilt Guild, Needle Benders, Green Tees Golf League, Clearwater Association and St. Vincent DePaul Society. While in Texas, she belonged to the Holy Family Catholic Parish of Lindale where she played the organ, sang in the choir and worked the soup kitchen. She and several friends also worked the Catholic Thrift Store.
Mrs. Zemer is at the Desnoyer Funeral Home where a prayer service will be held on Friday, January 3, 2014 at 9:15 AM followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church at 10:00 AM with Father Jeffrey Robideau presiding and Father Timothy MacDonald concelebrating. Interment will follow at St. John's Catholic Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home On Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm with a Rosary service at 7pm.
