Konkel, MaryAnn

of Jackson, passed away on Friday, January 8, 2016 at the age of 87 years. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Henry "Hank"; one brother, Sam Genix; numerous nieces, nephews and god-children. MaryAnn was a life long member of St. John Catholic Church and participated as a lector, even from the wheelchair that she was confined to for so many years because of her MS. She spent every day saying the rosary and made it her personal mission to make copies of that prayer and distribute it to everyone she knew. There was not a single person she encountered that did not receive her special Italian blessing of three crosses on their forehead.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, January 11 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church at 1:00 PM with Father James Shaver as the celebrant. Interment will take place at St. John's Catholic Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the church, prior to the Mass, from Noon to 1:00 PM.

Henry would like to extend a very special thank you to all of the staff at Bethany Care Home for the love and care they gave to MaryAnn.
