Mary Talton

Formerly of Jackson, Michigan passed away on Wednesday February 18, 2026 in Grand Haven, Michigan. She retired from Jackson Public Schools as a Bus driver then grounds keeper.

She enjoyed camping, traveling, fishing, taking charter boat tours, occasional trips to the casino, listening to karaoke with her good friends in Meadowlark campground.

Mary leaves behind her children; Ralph LaFond, Dennis LaFond, Don LaFond, Harold (Teresa) LaFond, Anna (Jim) Vander Weide, Kim (Joel) Middlebrook; step children, Dennis (Kellie) Talton, Anthony Talton, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband George Talton, son Terry LaFond, grandson Jimmy Vander Weide, parents, her mother; Anna Bruno, her father; Thomas Smith, sisters; Mildred Shingler, Rosie Fuller, Dorothy Shingler, Pearl Shingler, Susan Smith; brothers, Earl Smith, James Shingler, Lawrence Fuller.

A Celebration of Mary’s life will be held on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at Roseland Memorial Gardens, 3744 Brooklyn Road, Jackson at 1:00 PM with Deacon Pat Gorczyca officiating.

The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Monday, February 23, 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
