Sissy Mead of Spring Arbor, Michigan completed her life's journey on January 13, 2015. She was born on November 4, 1956, her parents were Mack Brewer (deceased) and Wilma Jean Carpenter of Stanton, KY. She leaves behind four brothers, Marvin Ray Brewer, Jessie Wayne Brewer, Robert Don Hall, and Robert Owen Brewer and one sister Joetta Hall. She was married for 35 years to Charles B. Mead and raised three beautiful children, daughter JessieRaye Ansley (Steve), Howard Kermit Mead and Dean Charles Mead II (Amber). The light of her life were her 8 grandchildren, Steven Lake Ansley, Dawson Tyler Ansley, Xander Bernard Mead, Logan Richard Mead, Zoe Elizabeth Marie Mead, Charles Aren Mead, Brady Michael Mead and Lily Anna Marie Mead. She also embraced her daughter's stepson Brandon Michael Boyers who is currently serving in the military as her ninth grandchild.
Sissy had many achievements in her life but the two she was most proud of were her Cake decorating skills which were always in demand and that she was quick to share as an instructor where she was named Michigan Cake Decorating Instructor of the Year by the Wilton Corporation. She also became a Cub Scout den mother out of necessity when her son joined scouts and before she was done she became the first female Pack Master and was named Cub Scout Pack Master of the year for the state of Michigan.
She will be missed and remembered by a great number of people.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 17 at 10:30 AM at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church with Fr. Tim Nelson officiating. Private interment St. John's Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM with a Rosary Service at 7:00 PM. The family will also receive friends at Queen's Church on Saturday from 10:00 to 10:30 AM.
