Russo, Mary Helen

of Jackson, passed away under the loving care of her family and the staff at the Jackson County Medical Care Facility on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at the age of 85 years. Survived by nephews and nieces, Thomas Garrison, Philip (Celia) Garrison, David Russo, Frank, Gina, Bill, and John DeBiasi, and Lisa Stanton; 3 grandnieces, Lisa, Christina, and Asley; 2 great grandnieces and 1 great grandnephew. Preceded in death by her parents, Dominic and Grace Russo; sisters, Viola Garrison and Madeline DeBiasi; and brothers, Joseph and Louie Russo; and nephew, George Garrison.

Mary graduated in 1949. She was a registered nurse at Foote Hospital and Mercy Hospitals for 45 years. She enjoyed traveling and knitting and was a big supporter of her family and friends and will be greatly missed.

Mary was a lifetime member of St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church where the Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 24 at 10:30 AM with Reverend Timothy Nelson as the celebrant. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday from 10:00 to 10:30 AM. Private interment St. John's Catholic Cemetery.
